10 Years in Speedway - 05/09/07

Teenage speedway sensation Todd Waddell will reach another milestone in his short illustrious career by celebrating his 10th Anniversary of speedway competition this coming season in Western Australia.

From the tender age of 10, Todd with his family toured the country speedway tracks of Western Australia. With the trusty race car in tow he quickly rose up the rankings in a very competitive junior sedan division being awarded “Rookie of the Year” in his first season racing against competitors almost twice his age. This was only the beginning for Todd and the future would see him capture three consecutive Australian Junior Sedan Championships, a record he still holds to this day, from that he had the chance to represent Australia on a tour to New Zealand, an accolade he accepted with great pride.

Likewise his entry into the senior ranks of Speedcar racing has also seen him successfully translate his experience and tenacity into results with multiple awards in his first 2 years of competition including another “Rookie of the Year” and the prestigious Western Australian State Speedcar Title in 2007.

As the new speedway season fast approaches and now with some of the biggest blue ribbon races in his sights “The Magic Man 34” a tribute race to the late great Michael Figliomeni, The Australian Speedcar Title both at his home track of the Perth Motorplex as well as defending his State title.

Todd and the RWR Team are hard at work with preparations for the launch of a much more potent race car and the exciting announcement of a new major sponsor in the next few weeks.

The hope is to make Todds 10th year in Speedway one to remember.
